Disney Springs is jumping into the Cool KIDS’ SUMMER celebration with a lineup of family activities, entertainment, and interactive fun running now through September 8 at Walt Disney World.
And honestly, this might be one of the smartest things Disney could do during summer vacation season.
Not every family wants to spend every second standing in attraction lines or racing from Lightning Lane to Lightning Lane in the Florida heat. Disney Springs gives families a way to slow things down a little while still keeping that Disney energy going, and this summer’s offerings are clearly aimed right at younger kids.
One of the standout additions, at least for me, is the Mickey and Minnie Cookie Art with Edible Watercolor Paints that Zoë shared with us last week, available for purchase at Amorette’s Patisserie. Kids can decorate character cookies with edible paints and brushes, which truly sounds like an activity parents could enjoy just as much as the kids.
Over at the AdventHealth Waterside Stage, Disney is bringing music and dance energy into the mix with the DescenDANCE Party x Camp Rock Jam. If your family has Disney Channel nostalgia running through its veins, this is probably going to be a very popular stop this summer.
There’s also a dedicated Kids Pin Trading experience happening at Disney’s Pin Traders, giving younger Disney fans a chance to jump into one of the parks’ longtime traditions without feeling overwhelmed by larger trading crowds.
And yes, the Marketplace splash area is getting involved too.
The Disney Springs Kids Club Presented by Coppertone is taking over the Marketplace Splash Pad area with games, activities, and extra entertainment designed specifically for younger guests looking to cool off during those brutal Central Florida afternoons.
Disney has been heavily promoting Cool KIDS’ SUMMER across Walt Disney World this year, with new entertainment offerings, Bluey experiences, updated attractions, dance parties, and seasonal snacks appearing throughout the resort. It’s so nice to see Disney Springs included in a way that feels genuinely family-focused.
