If you’ve been eagerly watching the construction of Disney Lakeshore Lodge at Walt Disney World, a new batch of photos shows that this long-awaited resort is really starting to take shape.
Located along the shores of Bay Lake on the former site of Disney’s River Country, Disney Lakeshore Lodge has gone from a collection of steel beams and concrete structures to something that is beginning to resemble a finished resort. In these photos from our latest visit, guests can get a much closer look at the scale of the project and the details emerging as construction moves forward.

The most noticeable change is just how complete much of the main resort structure now appears. Exterior walls, balconies, roofing elements, and large sections of glass have been installed across multiple wings of the building. While there is still plenty of visible construction equipment on site, the resort’s overall footprint is now easy to see from across Bay Lake.
Several of the waterfront-facing sections appear to be entering later stages of construction, with work continuing on exterior finishes and common areas. The photos also offer a glimpse of what looks to be a covered gathering space near the water, giving guests a better idea of how the resort will connect with its lakeside setting.

One of the most interesting features visible in these new images is the collection of A-frame cabins taking shape near the shoreline. Disney has previously indicated that Lakeshore Lodge will feature a mix of traditional resort accommodations and unique cabin experiences, and these structures are really beginning to stand out as a defining part of the property’s design. Their distinctive triangular rooflines create a look unlike anything currently found at a Disney resort hotel.

For longtime Disney fans, there’s also something a little surreal about seeing a major resort rise from the former River Country site. The area sat largely untouched for years, becoming one of Walt Disney World’s most talked-about pieces of unused property before Disney officially moved forward with development.
While Disney has not yet revealed every detail about the guest experience, Lakeshore Lodge is expected to celebrate the beauty of nature and the great outdoors while offering modern Disney resort amenities. The property’s location places it just across Bay Lake from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and within the Magic Kingdom resort area.

Based on these latest photos, construction appears to be making substantial progress, and it’s becoming easier to imagine what guests will see when Disney Lakeshore Lodge eventually opens its doors. For now, these new images provide one of the clearest looks yet at how this massive project is coming together along one of the most scenic stretches of Walt Disney World property.
What catches your eye most in these new construction photos: the massive resort building, the lakeside gathering spaces, or those unique A-frame cabins?
