Disney Scores 125 Emmy Nominations for ABC, Disney+ & Hulu

The Walt Disney Company is celebrating another impressive awards season after earning 125 nominations for the 78th Emmy Awards, with recognition spanning everything from broadcast television and streaming to animation, documentaries, and feature films.

Disney’s brands and studios received 125 nominations across platforms like ABC, FX, Hulu Originals, Disney Television Studios, Disney+, Marvel Television, Lucasfilm, National Geographic, Searchlight Pictures, and 20th Century Studios. Out of these nominations, 109 are for programs available on Disney+ and Hulu. This shows that Disney is doing well in the streaming market.

ABC led all broadcast networks with 46 Emmy nominations. Among the highlights, Abbott Elementary picked up its fifth consecutive nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, while Jimmy Kimmel Live! earned its 15th straight nomination for Outstanding Variety Series. Dancing with the Stars also returned to the Emmy spotlight with its first nomination for Outstanding Reality Competition Program in ten years.

FX and Hulu continued their awards momentum with 23 nominations, including Outstanding Series recognition for The Bear, Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, and Welcome to Wrexham. The Bear and Welcome to Wrexham have now earned Outstanding Series nominations for every eligible season since their debuts. Meanwhile, the first season of Alien: Earth collected four nominations.

The Walt Disney Studios received 10 nominations, led by five for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show. Marvel Television celebrated a milestone as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II earned the studio’s first-ever Emmy nomination for a performance in a comedy series for Wonder Man. Lucasfilm also received recognition for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 and Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord.

Hulu Originals added 22 nominations, with Paradise earning seven, including Outstanding Drama Series and acting nominations for Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson, and Shailene Woodley. Only Murders in the Building continued its strong Emmy run with its fifth consecutive Outstanding Comedy Series nomination, while Martin Short was once again recognized for his performance.

National Geographic rounded out Disney’s impressive showing with 12 nominations, including honors for Tucci in Italy and Ocean with David Attenborough. The legendary broadcaster, who celebrated his 100th birthday this year, extended his record as the most-nominated person in the Outstanding Narrator category.

Disney Television Studios also had a standout year with 59 nominations, including multiple Outstanding Series nods for favorites like Abbott Elementary, Only Murders in the Building, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and The Muppet Show.

The nominations showcase the wide range of storytelling across The Walt Disney Company’s television networks, streaming platforms, and film studios. From beloved comedies and acclaimed dramas to documentaries, reality programming, animation, and the Star Wars and Marvel universes, Disney will once again have a significant presence when television’s biggest awards are handed out.
