Disneyland Resort is fully transitioning into the Halloween season, with exciting updates taking place across both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
This week, guests can see Oogie Boogie return to the Disney California Adventure entrance, shop two brand-new Halloween merchandise collections, watch Disney crews add Halloween décor, and discover the latest construction updates across the resort.
Additionally, several entertainment offerings have come to an end as the Disneyland Resort 70th Anniversary celebration winds down.

Oogie Boogie Returns to Disney California Adventure
One of the biggest signs that Halloween is almost here has officially returned. Oogie Boogie is once again towering above the entrance to Disney California Adventure, welcoming guests with his signature grin.
His return signals that Halloween Time is just around the corner, while more seasonal decorations continue to appear throughout the resort.
Meanwhile, Disney crews continue installing décor for Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party. Crews are adding pumpkins, seasonal banners, and themed lighting throughout Disney California Adventure.
Guests also spotted Roger Rabbit-themed décor around the park. Disney usually uses this setup for Judge Doom during Oogie Boogie Bash. The discovery hints that the villain could return for this year’s Halloween party.
Disneyland 70th Anniversary Entertainment Ends
As Halloween preparations continue, the Disneyland Resort 70th Anniversary celebration is beginning to wrap up.
As of August 9, the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade and World of Color: #222;– Happiness! have concluded their limited-time performances.
Esplanade has now been completely removed
Additionally, Disney has completely removed the colorful 70th Anniversary décor that once welcomed guests in the Esplanade.
Plaza Inn Character Breakfast Temporarily Closes
Guests planning to enjoy Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park should plan ahead. Beginning August 17, the popular character dining experience at Plaza Inn will temporarily close through late September.
However, Plaza Inn will continue serving its regular lunch and dinner menus during the refurbishment period.
Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition Reopening Soon
The Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition is currently closed for refurbishment. However, it’s scheduled to reopen on September 10, 2026.
Haunted Mansion Temporarily Closing for Holiday Transformation
Another seasonal change is coming to Disneyland Park. Disney will temporarily close the classic Haunted Mansion from August 8 through August 20 as Imagineers transform the attraction into Haunted Mansion Holiday, inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The seasonal overlay blends Halloween and Christmas traditions by bringing Jack Skellington, Sally, and the residents of Halloween Town into the haunted estate.
Disney plans to reopen the attraction on August 21 as Haunted Mansion Holiday, just in time for the start of Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort.
Cutie Ghost Collection Continues to Be a Guest Favorite
One of the biggest merchandise highlights this Halloween season is the adorable Cutie Ghost Collection. Featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse as pastel ghosts, the collection includes apparel, home décor, and more.
New Halloween 2026 Merchandise Arrives
In addition to the Cutie Ghost Collection, Disneyland has released its larger Halloween 2026 merchandise collection. Guests can now shop new apparel, home décor, and more.
Construction Continues Around Disney California Adventure
Construction remains visible in several areas of Disney California Adventure.
Work continues inside Paradise Gardens Park, where Disney is preparing the area for the upcoming Coco attraction. Although construction is still in its early stages, guests will notice walls and work zones throughout the area.
Meanwhile, additional construction activity can be seen near The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure for updating stroller que.
Likewise, construction is still visible near Silly Symphony Swings, although the attraction remains open during the ongoing work.
To help accommodate guests during construction, Disney has also added temporary indoor seating near Paradise Gardens Park, providing additional dining space while nearby areas are under refurbishment.
