Hey, Disney friends. If there is one thing I will always encourage you to do on a Disney vacation, it’s to stop for photos. I know, I know, when you’ve got somewhere to be, and everyone is hot, hungry, and convinced they have absolutely no time to stop, it can feel like just another thing to squeeze into the day. But some of my favorite vacation memories are the ones where we actually took a moment to stand together, smile, and let someone else worry about taking the picture. And now the Disney PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs has given us another reason to make that little pause part of the plan.
The indoor studio has introduced a brand-new immersive experience called Step into a Storybook, where your family can enter story-inspired settings and capture photos that feel like you have jumped right into a Disney story. Disney says the experience can take guests from Andy’s room in Toy Story to Arendelle in Frozen. Of course, there’s also Celebrate the Season, which brings changing seasonal settings into the studio, from pumpkin patches to winter wonderlands, with photographers adding special props and Magic Shots to help bring the finished photos to life. And the best part for me? You don’t need a reservation, and there’s no charge just to have your photos taken. Let’s take a closer look at the new additions to the studio:
And this is where I think we sometimes miss the point of Disney PhotoPass. Yes, you get a lovely picture to pop on your phone, share with the family or perhaps frame when you get home, but those photographs become so much more valuable with time. The kids grow. The family changes. The vacations that once felt like something you would do every year suddenly become the memories you talk about around the dinner table. Having everyone in the picture, rather than one person always being behind the camera, is something you will be incredibly grateful for later. Disney makes it wonderfully easy to capture these moments, so please, take the time.
I’m particularly excited about this new Disney Springs experience because it gives us another reason to slow down and make some memories together, without needing to add another park ticket or squeeze into an already packed park day. I’m always on the go in the parks, but at the Studio, you can stop in, let the PhotoPass photographer guide you, choose your story, and have a little fun with it without feeling like you are missing out on a park experience. The photos may take only a few minutes to capture, but I promise you, future you will be very glad you did it. Because when you look back years from now, that photograph of your family standing together in Arendelle or Andy’s room isn’t just a vacation photo. It’s a little piece of that moment in time, preserving your personal history, and honestly, I can think of few better presents you can give your future self.
