Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort is THE location for Mickey beignets at Walt Disney World! If you’ve never had a beignet or only seen Tiana make them in Princess and the Frog, beignets are fluffy, fried dough dredged in an abundance of powdered sugar. Unlike Tiana’s beignets at the Magic Kingdom, French Quarter’s version is Mickey-shaped. Throughout the year, you can expect seasonal variations with different toppings and even a boozy version with your choice of liqueur. For the Halloween season, the “Ghoulish Beignets” have materialized once again and are only available until November 1st!

Normally, the beignets have a dedicated location in the French Quarter lobby at Scat Cat’s Club Cafe. However, the entirety of Scat Cat’s Club is undergoing a refurbishment but don’t worry, the beignets are still available! Just pop over to the resort’s Quick Service Restaurant, Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory for the same delicious offerings. You can also find a temporary lobby bar set-up in the evenings since the lounge portion of Scat Cat’s Club is included in the refurbishment.

The beignets come in orders of three or six with your choice of chocolate, caramel, or strawberry dipping sauce. The Mickey-shaped beignets are larger than what you might find at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans but they still go down way too easy.

Ghoulish Beignets – Mickey-shaped beignets dusted with cookies and cream powdered sugar and a ghoulish marshmallow creme sauce – $9.49

As soon as we ordered the Ghoulish Beignets, every Cast Member couldn’t stop talking about how great they are! We even inspired several other guests to give them a try. The cookies and cream powdered sugar is subtle and gives the beignet just a little bit of chocolate flavor. The real star of the show is the marshmallow creme sauce drizzled in both a haunting green and purple. It’s the perfect creamy, vanilla marshmallow flavor and would be incredible as a stand-alone dipping sauce. For $1.50 more than three regular beignets, the Ghoulish Beignets are absolutely worth getting.

My favorite thing about the Mickey beignets are how fluffy and chewy they are. These beignets are pretty close to being authentic to New Orleans. Plus, it’s no secret being Mickey-shaped makes everything taste better.

With the recent changes to transportation at Disney Springs, you have to be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter to take the bus or boat back to the resort. However, you can still take the French Quarter bus from any of the parks or drive over to the resort. We’ve always been able to park directly at the resort for a “beignet break”. If you’re staying at the neighboring Port Orleans Riverside Resort, simply take the walkway along the Sassagoula River.
With less than a month left of the Halloweens season, this is your sign to get to French Quarter for the Ghoulish Beignets before they vanish!
