According to Entertainment Weekly, Avengers: Infinity War has finished its domestic opening day with $106 million, which includes $39 million from late Thursday night screenings. This is the second largest box office opening day ever, finishing right behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Disney is now estimating that Avengers: Infinity War will finish the weekend with a total ranging between $225-$240 million. That will keep pace with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but will likely not surpass it. The Force Awakens raked in $248 million during its opening weekend.
These estimates mean Avengers: Infinity War will become the most successful superhero movie of all-time.
