Disneyland Resort’s Pirate-inspired Best Bites for June 2018

It’s June at the Disneyland Resort, and that means the return of Pirates of the Caribbean along with some new dishes inspired by the classic attraction.

Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square has several special menu items as part of the celebration.

The Cursed Pirate Fried Octopus & Calamari includes andouille sausage, rum-soaked pineapple, haricot vert, and remoulade. The Chicken Betty’s Jidori Free Range Chicken is served with coconut rice, ham hock, maque choux, fried plantains, and a spiced rum glaze.

For dessert, try Redd’s Strawberry Cake, made with sponge cake soaked in strawberry compote syrump, and topped with candied strawberry, coconut chantilly, and diced pineapple that was sauteed in brown sugar and vanilla bean.

All three special dishes will only be around until June 18th.

This weekend, you can also grab a Pirates-inspired Golden Churro at the Churro Cart in New Orleans Square or the Redd Velvet Cake at the French Market Restaurant.

On the other side of the resort, the three Disneyland Resort hotels have been serving up some special drinks for Pixar Fest that might satisfy the pirate in you.

At the Disneyland Hotel Pool Bar, sip on The Adventurer’s Spirit, made with tequila, orange juice, and grenadine. For younger guests, the Explorer Punch has pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon juice, passion fruit, guava, and grenadine.

By the pool at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, grab the Number 1 Fan, which includes blueberry vodka, lemon juice, and strawberry syrup. The less adventurous might like the Totally Wicked Punch with pineapple juice, pomegranate juice, soda water, and flavors of mango, guava, and ginger.

Finally, up at the Sand Bar at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, order the Forget-Me-Not, blended with coconut rum, blue curacao, pina colada mix, and whipped cream, or the refreshing Lucky Fin, made with Blood orange syrup, orange juice, and nonfat yogurt.
