Disney’s Dog-Friendly Resort Pilot Program Continues at Select Walt Disney World Hotels

Disney announced today that its dog-friendly pilot program, launched in October 2017, will continue on in select rooms at four Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.

Guests who wish to bring up to 2 dogs on their Disney vacation have the option to stay in one of 250 dog-friendly rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will remain pet-friendly at the campsites and cabins.

There will be an additional charge of $75 per day pet-cleaning fee at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort which will be added onto the room rate, and a $50 per day fee at the other three resorts.

Dogs will be greeted with Pluto’s Welcome Kit which will include a “mat, bowls, a pet ID tag, courtesy plastic disposable bags, puppy pads and dog walking maps.” Additionally, rooms with a dog staying in them will receive a Pluto-themed “Do Not Disturb” door hanger to notify hotel staff that there is a dog in the room.

According to Walt Disney World Resort Park rules, dogs staying in designated guest rooms are not allowed in theme parks or public spaces such as pools, restaurants and recreation spaces unless they are service animals. Additionally, pets are expected to be leashed, properly vaccinated and well behaved.
