Disneyland Donates $5 Million to Help Battle Homelessness in Anaheim

The Disneyland Resort announced today that they have committed to fund a $5 million grant to help support affordable housing and address homelessness in Anaheim.

The donation to the Orange County Housing Trust [OCHT] is the first contribution by a private donor.

OCHT, an alliance of NeighborWorks Orange County and Orange County Business Council, is a non-profit organization that is working to increase the supply of affordable housing in Orange County.

With Disneyland’s donation, OCHT is now able to move forward on The Manchester Project, breaking ground on the 102-unit affordable housing development in 2020.

Josh D’Amaro, President of the Disneyland Resort had this to say about the donation:

“Communities need permanent supportive housing to help address homelessness and the housing affordability challenges impacting nearly every city throughout California. We are proud to support the Orange County Housing Trust with a $5 million grant that will be focused on Anaheim-based projects and look forward to the Trust’s role in addressing this need in our community.”
