New Entertainment and Decor Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for 2019 Holiday Season

Walt Disney World has announced that Animal Kingdom will be receiving its own dose of holiday magic this year.

When guests head over the bridge into Discovery Island, they’ll find themselves right in the middle of a winter celebration. The village will be filled with “sparkling white holiday decorations” that were hand-crafted by the artists who call Discovery Island home. “Colorful, animal-inspired luminaries line the rooftops, and wireframe lanterns in the shape of beautiful birds can be found perched throughout the area.”

During the day, the island will host a gathering of winter animals in the form of “life-size, artisan-sculpted puppets.” Reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins, and more will interact with guests as they’re serenaded by musicians playing festive holiday music.

Rooftop luminaries and bird lanterns will be added to the entire village and at the center of the park, the Tree of Life will awaken with “wintry tales, complemented by a familiar and heartwarming holiday-inspired musical score.” The Tree of Life will “shimmer and sparkle throughout the night, alive with the magic of nature and the spirit of the holidays” between the awakening moments.

Take a look below at what’s in store for the other lands throughout the park:
