Ewan McGregor Shares New Details About the Upcoming Disney+ Obi-Wan Series

In an interview with Men’s Journal Ewan McGregor shared new details about the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series coming to Disney+. During the interview, he confirmed that the show will consist of 6 episodes that are all approximately 1 hour long.

McGregor also stated that the series will take place after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Many fans have wonder what Obi-Wan had been doing for the 19 year period between Episode III and Episode IV, and now we may know.

He said, “the Jedi Order was falling apart. It will be interesting to take a character we know in a way and show him—Well, his arc will be quite interesting, I think, dealing with that the fact that all the Jedi were slaughtered with the end of Episode III. It’s quite something to get over.”

The Obi-Wan series release date has not been announced, but filming will begin in 2020.
