Hey, friends! I’ve been watching the excitement surrounding Disney’s World Princess Week, which is happening in the parks this week, and I’ll admit, I’m a little jealous. I won’t be back in the parks until my return for back-to-back Halloween parties, so I am celebrating this Disney Princess tradition from home this year. If you or your little ones love the Disney Princess fam and are looking for ways to enjoy the occasion at home, I’ve got a few things up my sleeve for you. We’ve got a D23 recipe for stained glass cookies for Beauty and the Beast vibes, a ride-along with Jodi Benson for some The Little Mermaid love, and a bunch of merchandise to fall in love with. To cap things off, some classic advice from the voices you love of Moana, Belle, Tiana, and Ariel.
Stained Glass Cookies- from D23
Ingredients and Materials
- Sugar or shortbread cookies (store-bought or prepared according to your favorite recipe) at least 3 inches wide
- White royal icing
- Edible rice paper (available online or at baking supply stores)
- Our stained-glass rose cookie template, printed on regular 8 1/2” x 11” copy paper (Click here to download)
- Black food coloring marker
- Scissors
- Black royal icing in a piping bag with a fine tip
- Clear piping gel
- Gel food coloring—red, green, and blue
Directions

1. Flood a cookie with white royal icing and let dry.

2. Place rice paper over our stained-glass rose cookie template and trace over the black-and-white rose line art with black food coloring marker.

3. Cut out the rose art from the rice paper, then place rice paper on top of a cookie.

4. Trace over the black lines with black royal icing and let dry.

5. Divide clear piping gel into three batches. You will color one batch red, another green, and the other one blue. Put gel food coloring into clear piping gel one drop at a time, mixing after each drop, until piping gel is desired shade.

6. Using the colored stained-glass rose image in the cookie template as a reference, fill in the cookie with the colored piping gel accordingly.

And just like that, World Princess Week doesn’t have to end when you walk out of the parks. Whether you’re baking a themed treat, curling up for a princess movie marathon, or picking up a little sparkle from the Disney Store to add to your collection, there are so many ways to bring the magic home. It’s the perfect reminder that the spirit of our favorite Disney Princess stories, courage, kindness, and a touch of pixie dust, can live with us every day, no castle required.
