Hey howdy hey! Welcome to another curated list of vintage goodies from yours truly!
We’re going wild for Disney’s Animal Kingdom over here. I thought about waiting for April, or the week of Earth Day to solely feature items from DAK… but with the closure of Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama this week, my trusty watchlist suddenly became flooded with rarer finds and deals that I simply must share now. This is only phase one of the complete removal of dinosaurs from the park; if you know me, I’m not ever letting this go. I’m heading out to bid my official goodbyes to that precious Cementosaurus and Dinosaur Treasures gift shop later today, so, I’m in a mood. Check out this fun, vintage merch including Animal Kingdom’s original logo (a logo which is still heavily seen around the park today!), featuring a dragon front & center along with a triceratops — a creature that will also soon be irrelevant at DAK. Me? Dramatic? Hey, at least we have another year with DINOSAUR. Alright, let’s jump in– Or… jump back in time!
First up, we have this super detailed artwork from Opening Day merchandise. I’ve found this design on a poster print before, but this 90s t-shirt looks so soft and comfy! I feel the longer you look at this art, the more you notice. I mean, did you spot the dragon? Not to mention the prominent fossil and Dino Institute. I just might have to pick this one up myself! The back of the shirt features the park’s logo, too.

Have you got the time? This limited edition Opening Day watch is part of the Artist Watch Series, meaning the art was hand drawn, and features an adorable gold Mickey head fixture.
Available HERE | $99.99
One of the genius designs from DAK’s merch lineup was the “Tigger Is That You?” design featuring Winnie-The-Pooh inspecting a real-life tiger. If you visited the park in the early 2000s, you probably saw this all over t-shirts and beach towels. From what I’ve found, this crewneck is hard to come by, and this listing is pretty reasonable! I’m tempted once again.
Available HERE | $43.00
This vintage molded PVC keychain is super cute, just look at our little animal friends!
Available HERE | $15.00
In the market for a bum bag? A fanny pack? A cross body bag? However you call it or style it, this embroidered leather fanny pack from opening year is fabulous.
Available HERE | $25.00
Last but certainly not least, we have this Imagineer-exclusive button from the opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, specific to Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama. How timely! This is a bit pricey for a button, but it’s a pretty rare and special find. This image can also be seen on a billboard back in Dino-Rama. I’ve always found it funny how the archaeologist glancing down at the land looks similar to Indiana Jones. A prophecy of sorts?

I hope you enjoyed this week’s selection of vintage Animal Kingdom merch! Let me know if you’d like to see anything specific next time around and I’ll include them in my weekly searches. And remember… Nahtazu!
