Disney and Formula 1 Unveil Special Make-A-Wish Racing Helmets

Disney’s growing partnership with Formula 1 is taking on a charitable twist this summer. Before the FORMULA 1 British Grand Prix 2026, Disney, Formula 1, and Make-A-Wish are launching custom Mickey Mouse racing helmets. These helmets aim to raise money and awareness for children with serious illnesses.

The eye-catching helmets were created in partnership with Bell Racing and feature artwork by Bret Iwan, the official voice of Mickey Mouse, under the creative direction of Bobby Kim, Global Creative Director for Disney Consumer Products. The design combines Mickey Mouse with bold racing-inspired graphics, while a subtle shooting star trailing behind Mickey serves as a tribute to Make-A-Wish and the hope each wish represents.

The first helmet will make its public debut during race weekend at the FORMULA 1 British Grand Prix 2026, but before taking center stage, it has already become a collector’s item. It has been signed by several Formula 1 drivers, including Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, and Pierre Gasly, who also serves as a Make-A-Wish France ambassador.

Fans and collectors will soon have the opportunity to own the one-of-a-kind piece. The signed helmet will be auctioned through F1 Authentics, operated under license by Memento Exclusives, with 100% of the net proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish International. Registration for the auction opens on July 7, with bidding taking place July 11 through July 18.

If you won’t be attending the British Grand Prix, you’ll have another chance to see the second specially designed helmet in person. The second custom helmet will be displayed during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, taking place August 14-16 in Anaheim, where Disney fans can get an up-close look at the collaboration.

One of the things I like most about this collaboration is that it isn’t just about creating a cool collectible for Disney or Formula 1 fans. Disney has worked with Make-A-Wish for more than 40 years, and this special helmet is another example of that relationship making a real difference for children and families around the world.

Sure, someone is going to walk away with an incredible piece of racing memorabilia. But knowing that the auction will help grant wishes for children facing critical illnesses makes it much more meaningful than another limited-edition collectible.
