Guests visiting Disney California Adventure at Disneyland can now experience the all-new Soarin’ Across America attraction, which officially opened today, July 2, 2026. The reimagined ride honors the beauty and diversity of the United States as part of America’s 250th anniversary and follows its debut at EPCOT on May 26, 2026.
The updated film takes guests on a cross-country aerial adventure, soaring over some of the nation’s most recognizable landmarks and breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, riders will fly past the rugged New England coastline, New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty, Grand Canyon West, expansive western plains, the northern wilderness, sun-drenched island shores, and the scenic bayou.
While the film has been updated, longtime fans will recognize many familiar elements of the attraction. The Wings of Fame and Legends of Flight exhibit areas remain, honoring California’s aviation pioneers with displays celebrating legendary figures including Amelia Earhart, Chuck Yeager, Bessie Coleman, William J. Powell, Lockheed, Howard Hughes, and others who helped shape the history of flight.
Disney says that creating Soarin’ Across America was no small undertaking. The production team traveled more than 28,000 miles, completing nearly 900 helicopter passes and more than 60 drone flights to capture the stunning footage featured throughout the attraction.
The new experience represents the latest evolution of Soarin’, which first opened at Disney California Adventure in 2001 with its original California-themed film before expanding to a global adventure with Soarin’ Around the World. Now, the attraction returns to its roots by celebrating iconic destinations across the United States while continuing to deliver the same sensation of flight that has made it a guest favorite for more than two decades.
With Soarin’ Across America now open at both Disney California Adventure and EPCOT, guests on both coasts can take to the skies for Disney’s newest chapter of this beloved attraction.
