Yub-nub! Star Wars fans visiting Disneyland will soon have a new adorable companion to take home from Batuu… An interactive Ewok will join the lineup at Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge beginning August 13, 2026, launching Disney’s new Batuu Adventure Buddies collection.
The Ewok is the first of three interactive characters planned for the collection. The other two will be introduced at a later date, with the full Batuu Adventure Buddies lineup eventually coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The interactive Ewok is designed with expressive eyes, motorized facial movements and a variety of sounds, including giggles, laughs and Ewokese chatter. The toys are also able to interact with other droids available at Droid Depot.
Disney says different reactions are triggered by tapping the Ewok. A single tap on its head or two taps on its belly will produce random responses. Three quick taps on the head activate two special animations: Endor Dance Party, featuring rhythmic eye movements and Ewokese chanting and drumming sounds, and Forest Call Chain, which allows nearby Batuu Adventure Buddies to respond to the Ewok’s scout call in their own languages.
The Ewok can also be customized with three optional gear packs for an additional cost:
- Endor Gear Set: Spear, horn, grilled fish and Endor-issue poncho
- Mandalore Gear Set: Mythosaur axe, Nummies, Beskar chest armor and shoulder cape
- Batuu Gear Set: YT-1300 freighter model, All-Kit tool, Ronto wrap and Bantuuan poncho
The accessories have interactive functions of their own. Food, toys and tools from the gear packs connect to the Ewok’s left hand and can trigger different sounds, animations and reactions.
The experience starts inside Droid Depot, where a Cast Member will help guests choose their companion and accessories. Once selected, guests take part in an activation moment that brings the Ewok to life before heading out to explore Batuu with their new companion.
The interactive Ewok will be available at Disneyland beginning August 13, 2026, while additional Batuu Adventure Buddies will arrive at a later date. The full collection is also expected to expand to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the future.
