While walking around Disney Springs this weekend, I spotted a piece from the latest Disney Eats collection, and I’m not exactly sure how to feel about it.
Disney Eats Popcorn Purse | $34.99
The red and white crossbody bag features an all-over design with stripes and cartoon stylings of different snacks; including popcorn, lollipops, hot dogs, Mickey pretzels, burgers, and churros. The best [weirdest?] part? The fake popcorn appearing out of the top of the bag.
The zippered closure reveals a red and sprinkle patterned interior lining.
Breaking down my thoughts here: the more I looked at the bag, the more perplexed I became. On one hand, I love popcorn. I love Disney Parks popcorn (sponsored by Pop Secret, my favorite). I consider myself a “popcorn princess” of sorts. I also love kitschy, unique accessories. This purse certainly covers both! On the other hand, The feeling of the faux popcorn within the stuffed cotton fabric is a weird sensation, and I’d be fearful of the popcorn area getting dirty with too much use.
There’s a missed opportunity to feature a buttery popcorn scent here, and I’m personally not a fan of the other snacks plastered all over the popcorn container. Instead, I would love to see a collection featuring the Mary Blair-inspired design we see on today’s popcorn containers and paper cups at the parks. What do you think?
