I’ve been scouting out new arrivals for my Loungefly collection, and while I have not seen any new designs on the horizon for the new year just yet, it did get me thinking about what should come next. I was late to the Loungefly scene. Admittedly, as an Australian who only visits the parks when possible each year, it was hard for me to see the investment in these expensive little bags that don’t fit much more than a park day’s worth of stuff; until I got one.
My first Loungefly was gifted to me many years ago. It was my first, and still my favorite, in rose gold sequins. Agh, the beauty. Shimmery and filled with personality, I quickly learned that a Disney day couldn’t be complete without its presence. Then, I started to buy more. My addiction quickly developed as my collection expanded, and now I find it difficult not to buy the latest (and usually greatest) as it becomes available. I need one for each mood whenever I visit the parks, and of course, a matching ear headband and sweater to match. As I waited for the newest releases for 2025 to be announced, I started to wonder, what am I hoping for?
I am a big fan of the styles that stick to one or two colors. Being able to mix and match them with my outfits makes things a lot easier. So, while I love to admire them, I don’t add too many of the character bags to my collection. I thought about this for half of the day today, and then it hit me. Disney attractions. You might recall that I love ornaments and merch that are based around iconic Disney attractions. What I would love to see are more designs based around the lands and rides that we love from the Disney Parks. We’ve already seen the castle represented, and of course, characters and stories, but what I really want is to see a Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland Mini Backpack. Or bags specific to each park that you can collect with all the iconic features displayed. This would mean that Disneyland, California Adventure, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom each get their own signature bag.
