The Hits & Misses of Disney’s New ‘Lady & The Tramp’ Merch

Disneyland Park isn’t the only 70th Anniversary being honored at the moment. In a much quieter celebration of the landmark anniversary, Disney’s classic animated film Lady and the Tramp is also being appreciated for its 70 years of enjoyment for Disney fans around the world. As part of the occasion, Disney has released a series of Lady and the Tramp 70th Anniversary merchandise, and some are better than others. There seems to be a distinct line between the hits and misses of this merch collection, and we are about to lay it out for you as to which is which. See if you agree.

The Hits

Squishmallows took some convincing for me. While my kids insisted they were the best thing in the world, I thought they looked more like character balloons than anything else. It turned out that the proof was in the pudding, but only when you touch it. Once I got my hands on one of these a few years ago, I suddenly understood what makes them so attractive for little hands, and teen hands as it would seem! Now, seeing these little creatures in all of our favorite Disney character designs is a fun way to add to your collection and enjoy your Disney love at the same time. Here are the Lady and Tramp designs that have just been released.

Lady and the Tramp 70th Anniversary MagicBand+ – Limited Release, $54.99

I’m always curious when I hear about new Magic Band designs inspired by movies, wondering if they will take the easy route, slapping a familiar face or two on the band, or a more creative approach, using finer details from the film to work into the design. I was delighted to see that this new band had a stronger focus on the iconic dining scene in Tony’s Restaurant, which any fan will know set the bar for animated romance, even if they are dogs!

Lady and the Tramp 70th Anniversary Mystery Pin Blind Pack – 2-Pc. – Limited Release, $34.99

It’s no secret that I am not a fan of blind packs. I can’t help but think they’re just a money grab to encourage you to buy more to complete your set. However, putting that aside, this new merchandise made the hit list because the character designs are adorable, and I was happy to see that some of the supporting characters were recognized as well, like Jock, Trusty, Peg, Dachsie, Boris with Toughy and Bull, Tony, Joe, and Beaver.

The Misses

Lady and the Tramp Dress for Women – Disney Parks Dress Shop, $128

I’ve come to expect a lot from my Disney dresses. At a premium price point, a Disney dress needs to walk a fine line between being subtly character or film related, while also being appropriate for more than just that one over-the-top day in the Disney Parks. I’ve seen so many dresses hit the mark, balancing style with convenience to offer something truly special that you can wear at home or on your Disney vacation. This isn’t one of those. This denim look with a Peter Pan collar and limited character touches looks like something that has been made at home. It feels like there is an obvious reason this dress isn’t shown on a model.

Ah, this brings me to my pet hate of 2025. This one is about to open a can of worms that we are going to circle back to over the weekend. Plush characters, I understand; I’m 100% here for them even as a grown woman. However, when we take those plush toys and slap a good helmet on them to resell as a new item, I’m going to take a step back and wonder who should be fired for this merch mistake.

Lady Disney Mini Mix-Its Plush – Lady and the Tramp 70th Anniversary – 7”, $19.99

Tramp Disney Mini Mix-Its Plush – Lady and the Tramp 70th Anniversary – 7”, $19.99

Like I said, we are coming back to that last one in a hot minute because those worms are coming out of the can. Let me know if you agree with our Lady and the Tramp Hit or Miss List for this 70th Anniversary merch.
