Cruise Critic, an online cruise guide featuring over 150,000 cruise reviews, has released their 2017 Cruisers’ Choice Awards for best cruise ships; Disney Cruise Line having a prominent role on the list. The rankings are based on ratings taken from member-published reviews for the year 2016. As Colleen McDaniel, Cruise Critic’s Senior Executive Editor, put it, “With these awards we consolidate the thousands of reviews submitted to Cruise Critic each year and honor those lines that received the best ratings from cruisers. Reviews offer incredibly helpful insights for those planning a cruise but also highlight the remarkable experiences and levels of service that people encounter every day on a cruise.”
Three Disney ships made the list, earning Disney a total of eight awards. Disney Dream managed to win a total of five awards in the Large ships classification (2,000+ passenger occupancy): Best Cabins, Best Public Rooms, Best Shore Excursions, Best Service, and Best Overall. The Dream has now been voted Best Overall Large Ship three consecutive years. Disney Fantasy also made a showing, voted the best vessel in the Large ship class for Fitness and Recreation.
