Disneyland Paris is looking to the future as the resort continues to transform. This new chapter in the resort’s legacy brings a new name for its second park. Walt Disney Studios Park has been evolving over the years. The Pixar-themed areas have morphed into the Worlds of Pixar and Avengers Campus opened with a bang in 2022. Now, the park will go from being Walt Disney Studios Park to Disney Adventure World.
Ultimately, the park will roughly double its size as more immersive experiences come to life. The official name change will happen when the park opens World of Frozen. The new Frozen expansion will take guests to the kingdom of Arendelle with its colorful facades and remarkable North Mountain. Beyond World of Frozen, Disney Adventure World will also receive a reimagined park entrance.
Beginning this month, work will extend to the entrance area so they are immersed into the brand-new story of the park immediately. According to Disney’s press release, “Guests will be transported into a vibrant, contemporary open-air movie studio before becoming special guests of a glamour film premiere in the heart of Hollywood on a starry night.” The covered, immersive entrance that currently is themed to a scene being filmed on Hollywood Boulevard will be replaced with crafted decor that pays homage to historic movie theaters in Hollywood and the industry as a whole. World Premiere, the new entrance building, will reopen in Spring 2025.
After leaving the World Premiere, guests will step into the World Premiere Plaza. This area brings together theaters in a stylish Art Deco-inspired setting. Imagineers are working to make this area a dynamic and warm environment inspired by the famous facades of Broadway and West End theaters. It will come alive at night with bright lights making for a vibrant and magical atmosphere.
To get to the immersive worlds of Disney Adventure World, guests will have to walk along Adventure Way. This area is described as a “beautiful promenade surrounded by lush landscape and themed gardens.” Besides being a perfect spot to daydream, it will include a new family attraction inspired by Tangled. Guests will be able to take a spin through the iconic floating lanterns scene from the movie on Raiponce Tangled Spin.
You can’t transform an area without food and Adventure Way will have a new restaurant. The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge will be a stylish table-service restaurant offering guests spectacular views over Adventure Bay. Disney says some favorite Disney Princesses will even be there!
This transformation for Walt Disney Studios Park won’t happen overnight. In the meantime, new entertainment will continue to roll out! Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland will start on May 25 at Walt Disney Studios Park. Disney says the show is a “hair-raising experience, where two teams go head-to-head in a high-energy showdown, with high-flying acrobats pushing their limits, and two alternative endings decided by the audience!” The show will open up a new story of Alice and the Queen of Hearts in an ultra-colorful, pop-rock face-off.
Marvel Avengers Campus will be the stage for a new nighttime show on the Worldwide Engineering Brigade building. The show will combine projections, music, and special effects in an all-new story featuring some favorite Disneyland Paris Marvel characters along with some newcomers. This show will start at the end of 2024 and run through Spring 2025.
Surely the news stops at Walt Disney Studios Park, right? Wrong. Disney Village and the Disney Davy Crockett Ranch are joining the fun. Most existing retail locations at Disney Village are getting a makeover and rebranding and two new Disney shops will be introduced by the end of the year. One is a lifestyle shop with ready-to-wear clothing, jewelry, accessories, and more. The other is a Disney home store with accessories and Disney collectible items. The Disney Store will welcome all major franchises under one roof and feature seasonal products in line with resort celebrations of new movie releases. A new and improved LEGO Store should come by the end of the year.
Davy Crockett Ranch bungalows will be replaced gradually starting later this year to make the experience more modern and comfortable. The bungalows will continue to be a haven of peace in the heart of nature but the theming will be elevated with nods to Disney characters like the Junior Woodchucks with Donald and his friends.
