We see people asking all the time about renting strollers from Disney or an outside vendor while vacationing at Walt Disney World, and we thought we’d share the ins and outs of both options. Let’s face it; an entire day of park touring at the Disney theme parks makes all of us tired at some point during the day, and a stroller is a necessity when you’ve got little ones in tow. Some people choose to bring a lightweight umbrella stroller from home to use in the airports all the way up to getting on and off the plane. While those strollers do the job, they can be too lightweight for a day, or several days in a row, at a theme park.
Each Disney theme park offers stroller rentals near the entrance. The current price of a single stroller rental is $15 per day, or $13 per day for a multiple-day rental. A double stroller rental currently costs $31 daily, or $27 a day for a multiple-day rental. We should note that while absolutely adorable in their Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse theming, Disney’s rental strollers are hard plastic and not terribly comfortable for your little ones without a layer or two of blankets. The idea of anything cozy and fluffy while it’s stifling hot in the parks might not be ideal either.
One of the biggest things to keep in mind if you rent a stroller from Disney is that you cannot take it out of the theme park. Even if you are staying in a Disney Resort hotel within walking distance of the theme parks, you will have to take your child out of the stroller prior to exiting the park, which can be disastrous if the timing isn’t right. I don’t believe that any parent wants to wake their sleeping child up from a much-needed nap just to carry them back to their hotel room.
Whenever guests ask for our advice on stroller rentals, we recommend Buena Vista Rentals – an official sponsor of our site. When you rent with them, they will deliver your rental to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel; all you have to do is meet their driver for the hand-off. Plus, as a reader of the DIS, you will receive a 10% discount on your rental fee, plus you get a free “extra” like a snack tray to attach to the stroller. The pricing listed below is for the “City Mini” single and double strollers and is not discounted. As you can see, there is a set price for each range of days and the longer you rent, the lower your price gets.
SINGLE STROLLER PRICING
- 4–6 Days = $72
- 7–10 Days = $90
- 11–14 Days = $108
- 15–18 Days = $106
- 19–22 Days = $144
DOUBLE STROLLER PRICING
- 4–6 Days = $81
- 7–10 Days = $99
- 11–14 Days = $117
- 15–18 Days = $135
- 19–22 Days = $153
Let’s say you were to rent a single stroller for six days. After the 10% discount, your cost would work out to $63 plus sales tax and a $20 optional damage waiver for a grand total of $88.40 – that’s just $14.73 per day. Also, delivery and pick-up are both free with your rental, so there are no extra fees for that fantastic service.
Not only do they have “City Mini” strollers, but they also offer “B.O.B. Revolution” single and double strollers to rent if you’re looking for a higher-quality stroller. The pricing on those is a bit higher, as noted below.
SINGLE “B.O.B.” STROLLER PRICING
- 4–6 Days = $81
- 7–10 Days = $99
- 11–14 Days = $117
- 15–18 Days = $135
- 19–22 Days = $153
DOUBLE “B.O.B.” STROLLER PRICING
- 4–6 Days = $90
- 7–10 Days = $108
- 11–14 Days = $126
- 15–18 Days = $144
- 19–22 Days = $162
Using the same example we used above, a single “B.O.B. Revolution” stroller would work out to $72 after the 10% discount, with a grand total (including tax and damage waiver) of $97.98.
You can head over to Buena Vista Rental’s website to price out the option that would suit your family the most. Also, the company offers different types of scooter (ECV) rentals and wheelchair rentals in case your family needs one of those as well.
As parents, we know that sometimes paying a little extra for a huge convenience can be worth its weight in gold. For my family, I choose the convenience of keeping that more comfortable stroller with me everywhere I go for the entire trip.
