You Need to Know About This Rest Area in Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Let me paint you a picture… You’ve been enjoying the last six or so hours at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. It’s roughly four o’clock and you just watched the Festival of Fantasy parade. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been using your phone to capture all of the fun, unforgettable moments – from the parade, to the rides, to the character meet-and-greets, down to even just the little things that being at the parks brings you. If you’re even more like me, then your phone can’t hold a charge for very long. Certainly not long enough to make it to the Happily Ever After fireworks show.

You can purchase a portable charger from one of the kiosks scattered throughout Walt Disney World Resort – but you’ve also been on your feet for hours. You want somewhere you can sit down where it isn’t too crowded, but promises you won’t miss out on any Disney magic either.

If this picture sounds or feels familiar to you, then I have great news.

Nestled between Fantasyland and Liberty Square is a pristine photo-op and restroom area themed after ‘Tangled’- what has become colloquially known as ‘The Tangled Bathrooms.’ Just in front of it, on a hill that overlooks Memento Mori, is a series of immersive benches and chairs carved to look like tree stumps. It is fenced in with adorable wooden posts overlooking a small garden of plants and a babbling pond. The area is under a good number of trees, so it is also shaded.

You might think that this area solves your need for a seat to rest your weary legs, but your phone is still dying! I’m pleased to tell you that there’s more. Inside these stump-like posts are free-to-use charging ports. Both traditional American outlets and USB ports. All you need is a charging cable! They have flap like covers marking the outlets so they won’t be hard to find and they prevent the stray raindrop from causing any damage.

Knowing what you know now, the next time you need a charging break, you can kick back in this shaded alcove, charge your phone, and listen to amazing themed background music.
