There’s something new rolling through Disneyland Paris, and if you’re a fan of Disney Princesses, it’s hard not to smile watching it.
Disney Adventure World has officially debuted the Disney Princess Cavalcade, a new daytime entertainment offering that brings Rapunzel, Moana, Raya, and Tiana together on beautifully themed floats before turning the whole thing into an interactive dance party with guests.
Looking through the photos Disney released, this doesn’t feel like your typical “wave as the float goes by” cavalcade. Instead, it looks much more personal. At one point during the performance, the princesses actually step off their floats and invite guests to join them for simple dance moves inspired by each character’s story.
Moana performs dances inspired by Pacific Island traditions, while Raya’s choreography is based on martial arts. Some guests are even invited to join in the show, creating fun Disney moments that kids will remember long after their visit to the park.
The floats themselves deserve a closer look, too.
Rather than simply placing each princess on a decorated platform, Disneyland Paris built miniature worlds around them. Rapunzel arrives aboard a charming version of The Snuggly Duckling, complete with plenty of fun little details for fans of Tangled. Moana’s float is packed with island touches and familiar faces like HeiHei and Pua, while Raya is joined by Tuk Tuk. Tiana’s float celebrates the spirit of New Orleans, with Ray making an appearance alongside her.
If you’re the kind of Disney fan who loves spotting the tiny details, there’s plenty to appreciate here. Disney says the floats include everything from hand-sculpted feathers and custom-made dragons to dozens of individually crafted decorative pieces. Even the performers’ costumes were created specifically for this production and draw inspiration from the places each princess calls home.
The music is brand new, too. Instead of recycling songs from the films, Disneyland Paris created two original tracks just for the cavalcade. They blend familiar Disney Princess sounds with upbeat music that keeps the energy moving as the floats wind through Adventure Bay several times each day.
The new entertainment offering also marks the end of the Disney Marching Band, which has been a fixture at Disneyland Paris in recent years. Minnie Mouse isn’t disappearing, though. She’ll soon begin greeting guests in a brand-new Victorian-inspired outfit near the West Pavilion.
Between this new cavalcade, the continued transformation of Disney Adventure World, and major expansions still on the horizon, it’s clear Disneyland Paris is continuing to invest heavily in entertainment that gives guests more opportunities to interact with their favorite Disney characters.
Looking at these photos, that Tangled float alone is worth stopping to watch.
