4) It’s The Best Disney Park For Young Children
Obviously all Disney Parks are great for young children, but Disneyland Park is especially nice for young families due to the numerous attractions in Fantasyland. It is a perfect fit assuming your first Disney vacation is to bring your children while they are still young. The smaller size of the property makes pushing a stroller around a lot easier than Walt Disney World. I’ve also noticed that Disneyland is the easiest domestic Disney Park in which to meet the characters. Wait times for character meet-and-greets are considerably shorter than Walt Disney World, and this is a huge factor when visiting a Disney Park with small children. Even if you are staying off property Disneyland is an easy walkable distance away from most hotels surrounding the property. Some guests with small children prefer that short walk compared to having to lug a stroller, or two, plus a couple kids onto a bus like families have to do at Walt Disney World.
3) It Can Be More Than A Disney Vacation
Disneyland is engulfed by southern California. Literally if you cross the street you are off Disney property. That makes it extremely easy to visit the beach, local restaurants, and even Hollywood. The reason I think this is good for first time visitors is that you aren’t putting all your eggs into one basket. Disney Parks aren’t for everyone, and conquering a full week at Walt Disney World can be a lot if you don’t turn out to be a big Disney Parks fan. A first time guest to Disneyland can visit for 2 or 3 days and feel like they accomplished a lot of ground. This leaves time on a week’s vacation to visit the beach and other tourist attractions in southern California. This is great for first time visitors because if it happens that your family doesn’t love Disney the way you had hoped, at least this way you haven’t invested a full week there. That is completely different from Walt Disney World. Walt Disney World requires a lot more time, and it isn’t the kind of vacation that can be easily split up with days off of Disney property.
2) It’s Walt Disney’s Original Park
To understand the magic of Disneyland you must first understand its history. Disneyland opened in 1955 and was the only Disney Park that Walt Disney actually had the chance to walk through before his passing in 1966. This is where the Disney Parks journey began for The Walt Disney Company, so it makes perfect sense for a first time visitor to start their journey visiting the Disney Parks. To fully appreciate all of the other Disney Parks you first have to understand the charm of Disneyland. Walt Disney poured his heart and soul into Disneyland, and because of that you can truly feel his spirit walking into the park.
1) It’s Compact And Easy To Navigate
Disneyland Resort is two parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. The best part about this is that they are extremely close to each other, separated only by a small promenade. This makes navigating the Disneyland Resort property extremely easy. This is in contrast to Walt Disney World, which is a whopping 27,258 acres including four theme parks, two water parks, three 18-hole golf courses, and a whole lot more. Walt Disney World has a lot of choices, but that can be overwhelming for first time visitors. Disneyland is simple, and a lot easier to navigate for first time Disney Park guests.
