Earlier today, Disneyland Resort announced the unveiling of a brand new window on Main Street, U.S.A. that honors Lillian Disney, Walt Disney’s wife, and her contributions to Disneyland.
The beautiful new window was revealed in a private ceremony on July 13, 2025, which would have been Walt and Lillian Disney’s 100th wedding anniversary. Oh, how sweet is that?
This lovely tradition of honoring individuals with a personalized window on Main Street was started by Walt Disney and we love that it still continues today. It comes as no surprise that receiving a dedicated window is one of the highest honors at The Walt Disney Company.
I am on my way to the Disneyland Resort as I bring you this wonderful news, and I can hardly wait to see this gorgeous window in-person when I’m in the park. I love how Lillian gets to take her place on Main Street, U.S.A., and watch over all the guests who enter.
If you enjoy seeing historic references and photos of Walt and Lillian Disney, but don’t have a trip planned to Disneyland just yet, I’ll share a couple of my favorite spots to see them at Walt Disney World.
First, head over to Disney’s Riviera Resort – it’s super easy to get there even if you’re not staying there – just hop onboard the Disney Skyliner! In that resort, you’ll find beautiful pictures of Walt and Lillian enjoying their European vacations back in the day. Perusing through these cherished photos is well worth the trip!
Another spot is over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in the hallway as you enter Steakhouse 71. In fact, while you’re there, you may as well enjoy a meal there! We never miss a chance to eat here, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We’ve even been known to stop by the lounge for a nightcap and a slice of 15-layer cake.
