Explore the Spacious SpringHill Suites by Marriott Near Disneyland

The corner of Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue is at the heart of the Anaheim Resort area, sitting in the shadow of the Disneyland Resort and steps from the Anaheim Convention Center. Recently, I stayed the SpringHill Suites by Marriott that sits prominently on that busy corner.

The Disneyland Resort is surrounded by locally owned and chain non-Disney eateries, lodging and more, so sometimes there are some great options (and values) to be had just outside of the gates. When it comes to hotels, Disney has its Good Neighbor Hotels, which can be included with your park tickets as part of a Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel Vacation Package.

The 174-room SpringHill Suites Anaheim Resort Convention Center opened in 2014 on the spot of, if my memory serves me, one of the closest gas stations to Disneyland. In the last 10 to 15 years, that corner has become the home to several chain hotels (and pharmacies) that serve both the theme parks and the convention center.

SpringHill Suites offers several options when it comes to rooms, including Studio Suites that have either a King or 2 Queens plus a sofa bed. The 1-Bedroom Suites feature the same sleeping arrangements, but offer a door to separate the sleeping space from the living room. There are even Family Suites that feature bunk beds for the kids.

My Studio Suite with 2 Queen beds was way more than enough space for my weekend visit to Disneyland, but I can sure see how families would enjoy that extra space (and extra television).

Just inside the door was a sitting area that included a chair and large couch that contained the sofa bed. On the opposite wall was a desk, featuring some storage space, plus the room’s first television

In the center of the suite was a unit that had space for two suitcases, plus the room’s refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave.

Across from that unit was the room’s bathroom, featuring a large shower (no tub) and a bright sink area.

Unlike many hotels, everything (shower, sink, and toilet) was in one room, which could make it complicated for some families to get ready in the morning.

Finally, the last section of the room had the two comfy queen beds, along with more storage and the room’s second television.

If you’re taking a break from the theme parks, you’ll want to check out the rooftop pool. In addition to several loungers inside the pool area, the patio includes plenty of additional seating. The pool area is fenced in, so families can enjoy the patio area without worrying about younger guests being tempted by the pool.

The area is actually open late and provides a decent view of the fireworks.

Near the pool and patio area, you’ll find SpringHill’s laundry facilities and fitness center.

Every morning in the lobby, there’s a substantial breakfast offered that includes eggs, breakfast meats, bagels, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, and waffles, plus coffee and juices. Times vary depending on day of the week.

The seating area is large, so you should have no trouble finding a table for your family.

Also in the lobby is a small area to purchase snacks, toiletries, and a souvenir or two. If you don’t find what you need there, the CVS that is adjacent to the hotel has a large selection of souvenirs, snacks, and beverages, along with their usual pharmacy items.

SpringHill offers plenty of underground parking for $41 plus tax and fees per day. Because I booked with Walt Disney Travel Company through Dreams Unlimited Travel, I received a small discount on parking. My total, including taxes and fees, was $40.95 per day.

The Springhill Suites Anaheim Resort Convention Center is a convenient option for those families that want a bit of extra space and I definitely enjoyed my stay there.

Over the next couple of months I’m going to be checking out more of the Good Neighbor Hotels that surround the Anaheim Convention Center, so keep an eye out for those articles. If there’s another hotel that you would like me to visit in the future, please let me know.
