It’s time to set your clocks to Pooh time, as we look at another Walt Disney World snack. We’re back on the hunt for a little smackerel of something, this time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

I recently discovered a delightful and refreshing hidden gem of a treat at Flame Tree Barbecue near Asia and Dinoland: the Key Lime Pie Pop.

Key Lime Pie Pop | $6.29

Easily available through mobile ordering (a lifesaver on crowded days!), this pop is a creamy, citrusy slice of heaven on a stick. Seriously, upon the first bite, I knew I had a new go-to sweet treat exclusively found at Animal Kingdom.

The filling is smooth and tart, bursting with fresh key lime flavor, and a crunchy graham cracker crust that gives it that classic pie feel. It’s coated in a thin layer of dark chocolate – just enough to give it a rich bite without being overpowering. The chocolate is then finished with more graham cracker crumbs on one side, and a printed palm leaf pattern on the other side.

What sets this treat apart on a hot Florida day is that it’s cold and satisfying without being a melty ice cream mess. Unlike typical frozen desserts, it holds its shape longer, making it easier to enjoy in the heat. That said, as you make your way through, the chocolate shell does begin to crack and melt, much like a Mickey Premium Bar… so grab extra napkins!

I enjoyed mine along a stone ledge bench behind the nearby popcorn cart (in the shade, of course). A White Ibis and a curious squirrel both seemed eager for a taste. I had to resist feeding the wildlife… but just look at this face! Yes, they were that close. This little guy eventually touched my leg and purse to get my attention. Guess I’m a Disney Princess now.

If you’re craving something indulgent, tart, and perfectly chilled, this pie pop is a must-try. For $6.29, I’d say it’s worth a short and sweet break in the shade. I’ll give this one a five out of five on the rumbly in my tumbly scale!
Until next time, be grateful for your plateful!
