If there is one event during the year that I love to enjoy at the Disneyland Resort, it’s the Food & Wine Festival held between Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney. It is a great way to see Disney’s ingenuity come to life as a team of culinary geniuses funnel their creativity into sample bites and sips you can graze on throughout the day. I love trying new dishes and sharing many menu items with my family so that everyone can get a little taste of each option. I usually don’t like to go very hard on food in the parks during the day as it often makes me feel tired, though this might be the one occasion where you can just about always catch me with something in my hand!
I’m devastated that I won’t be able to return to the Disneyland Resort during this year’s festival, so instead, I thought it might be fun to see the new Disney Parks guide with planDisney panelists Cody and Carrie. So fun to see these two exploring the parks and trying delightful dishes! Once you’ve seen the video, check back with me below for the best tip I’ve ever heard for the Food & Wine Festival!
Alright, so if you are like me, you probably had absolutely no idea you could order ALL of the menu items across the park at one booth. It sounds simple, but for some reason, this has never occurred to me before. So, if you’ve checked out our foodie guide for the occasion, make your preference list ahead of time, pick the shortest line early in the day, and order everything at once. In theory, you can visit the corresponding booths as the day goes on to collect your food, using your receipt; however, there is one giant risk here. Some items do sell out in peak times. Now, I’ve only just seen this and never been able to do it myself, so if someone out there knows what happens if you pre-order a menu item that subsequently sells out before redemption, please add it to the comments below. I would love to know. I would imagine that you could select a substitution. Even without that mystery solved, what a great way to avoid those long lines later in the day and spend more time enjoying the attractions and eating, of course.
