Late last year, The Walt Disney Company dropped some pretty exciting news for parents of little ones: “Bluey, the beloved Emmy®-winning animated series that has captured hearts worldwide, will join Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on land and Disney Cruise Line at sea.”
Cue the celebration! If you have a Bluey fan in your house (or, let’s be honest, if you are a Bluey fan, too), this felt like a huge win. Then, on January 10, 2025, Bluey and Bingo officially debuted as a meet-and-greet on the Disney Wonder, and it was adorable.
But here’s the thing—Disney also said that details about Bluey’s arrival at Disneyland and Walt Disney World would be shared “in the months ahead.” And now? It’s been nearly three months, and we’ve heard absolutely nothing.
Now, I get it. “Months ahead” is vague. It doesn’t necessarily mean three months—it could mean six, seven, or even eight months. Maybe I just need to be more patient. But if we start creeping toward a year with no news, that would start to feel strange. At that point, why not just say 2026? Why be so unclear about the timeline? It’s starting to feel like one of those announcements that hypes people up, only for the follow-through to take way longer than expected.
And what I really don’t understand is—why it was so easy to add Bluey to Disney Cruise Line, but the parks are taking so long. A meet-and-greet is one of the easiest additions Disney can make, and yet we’re still waiting with no sign of when she’ll arrive. Meanwhile, the cruise line got Bluey almost immediately. Did they just have less red tape? It’s a mystery.
As a parent, this waiting game has me feeling a little impatient. My kids love Bluey right now, but how much longer will that last? My older one is at that stage where their favorite things change fast, and while Bluey is still a huge part of our world, I have to be realistic—if Disney takes a year or two to bring her to the parks, will my kid still care? I hate to admit it, but there’s a real chance that by then, superheroes or action-packed adventure shows might take center stage in our house. And honestly? That makes me kind of sad. I love Bluey. The thought of a day when my kids outgrow it is something I try not to dwell on, but here we are.
Which is why I really hope Disney speeds things up. A meet-and-greet? A live show? Something—anything! A “Dance Mode” show replacing the Disney Junior Dance Party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios seems like the most obvious move. It would fit perfectly in the space, bring fresh energy to the area, and instantly become a must-do for families. Imagine the joy of little kids (and their parents!) getting to sing and dance along with Bluey and Bingo. It just makes too much sense.
So, Disney, we’re waiting. The “months ahead” are passing quickly, and Bluey fans—both the tiny ones and the parents who love watching with them—are eager for an update. When is she coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World? Because we’re ready!
