Mickey’s Toontown has been a staple at Disneyland Park since it opened over 30 years ago and is where you can walk through both Mickey and Minnie’s houses and meet the legends themselves. In 2023, the land underwent a massive refurbishment, including the addition of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and the quick-service restaurant, Café Daisy.
Café Daisy offers hot dogs, pizza “flop-overs”, house-made mini-donuts, specially-themed beverages, and a kids’ menu complete with a meal option just for toddlers.
In addition to a walk-up window, you can Mobile Order at Café Daisy. Many of the menu items can be eaten on the go, or there are tables and umbrellas available in front of Toontown City Hall.
Despite having spent a LOT of time at Mickey’s Toontown, I had previously never grabbed a snack from Café Daisy, but I’m happy to report there is at least one menu item worth adding to your must-do list!
Pepperoni Pizza Flop-Over – pepperoni, mozzarella, and provolone with tomato sauce – $10.49
While the name “flop-over” may not be especially appealing, it does accurately describe this unique take on pizza. I was first impressed by the portion size, the amount of cheese, and the butter-y, seasoned crust. And the first bite did not disappoint. The melty mozzarella and provolone are plentiful, and the flavor from the tomato sauce and pepperoni is pretty solid, especially for theme park pizza. This take on pepperoni pizza is comforting like memories of pizza day at school, but with elevated sauce and cheese. The best part of all is it’s so cheesy, I accomplished a two-foot long cheese pull just like you’d see in a cartoon… A Goofy Movie perhaps?
Not only would I go back to Café Daisy for the Pepperoni Pizza Flop-Over again, I would also like to try the other menu items based on this positive “snack attack”! I’m also very happy to know there are good snack and beverage options in an area of Disneyland I spend a lot of time in as a toddler parent.
