On June 21st, a 13-year-old boy fell down the 50-foot drop at Disneyland’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The young teen was taken to the hospital and miraculously did not sustain any injuries. Yesterday, TMZ acquired a guest’s video of the incident.
The cellphone video captures the boy jumping out of the ride vehicle right before the drop, falling, and then sliding down the 50-foot flume. If there was any question before, this video confirms the fall was intentional.
A Disney official gave the below statement to TMZ about the incident –
“The safety of park guests is their highest priority … and attractions are designed with multiple safety measures, and teams are trained to respond quickly in situations like this, which they did — the ride was immediately stopped.”

It can only be assumed Disney has taken action to ensure the boy and his family will not visit Disneyland again as the incident directly violates Disney’s safety policies agreed to when purchasing a ticket. This is a great reminder to parents that while Disneyland is one of the safest places in the world, only you are in charge of your child. The most important thing is the boy is okay and others on the attraction remained safe.
You can watch the video and reporting on the incident from Los Angeles-based news station KTLA5 –
