Permits filed for large expansion at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Last summer, we told you that Disney Vacation Club may be looking at building their first resort villas at a moderate resort. Today, we’re seeing reports on DISboards.com that plans have actually been filed for a large expansion at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Disney’s plans say that work is to begin in 2017 with completion expected in 2019.

The plans say that 7 new buildings will be built including a large, multi-level building. Plans show that the new large building will sit on land that is part of the existing Barbados Village, making us wonder if they plan to get rid of that section to allow for the new one. The plan also details changes for the roadways and retention ponds in the area.

Although nothing has been confirmed from Disney that this permit has anything to do with adding Disney Vacation Club villas, it’s fun for us Disney Vacation Club Members to think that it might!
