Contestant on ‘The Voice’ Delights Viewers by Singing ‘Prince Ali’ from Disney’s ‘Aladdin’

Chris James, an audiobook narrator from Norwich, made an appearance on last week’s auditions for The Voice and had the audience on their feet with his rendition of ‘Prince Ali’ from Disney’s Aladdin.

After his performance, James shared a bit about himself and had the judges wondering why he chose to sing a song from a Disney movie instead of something along the lines of Metallica. While explaining his song choice, he stated,

“I do a lot of songs so I was like, I could do something rock, could do something country, then I was just like, oh yeah…! Honestly, I just wanted to let the crowd have a good time and sing a song people like. Because that’s what I do.”

The judges said it was a risky but smart choice. Watch below and you’re sure to have a smile on your face real quick!

In the final seconds of his performance, judge Olly Murs turned his chair for the spirited performance saying, “I had to!”

Not only does James have a fantastic voice, but he entertained the crowd and had judges who didn’t turn their chairs wishing they had!
