If you’re a Disney fan, chances are you know of Michael Giacchino, or have at least heard his work. Giacchino is a prominent composer known for his extensive and influential work on various projects, including films from Disney Animation (Zootopia and Ralph Breaks the Internet), Pixar (Up and Ratatouille), Marvel (Spider-Man: Far From Home), and Star Wars (Rogue One), as well as theme park attractions (Disneyland’s Space Mountain). In his recently-released album, he’s gone tiki-style!
I recently stumbled upon this new album and had to share. Exotic Themes for the Silver Screen – Volume 1 spans nearly two decades of Michael Giacchino’s music, from his early video game scores to his television hits and blockbuster films. The album transforms these works through the lens of Exotica, replacing epic strings and thundering drums with vibraphones and marimbas. Seriously, where’s my Kungaloosh?
