If you’re a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder, we’ve got one of those “check your calendar now” updates.
Disney just quietly dropped details for preview opportunities tied to V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days, and you’ll be able to ride two updated attractions before they officially reopen on May 26.
Let’s start with the big one.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is getting its debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Passholders can preview it May 21 through 23. This is the reimagined version featuring The Electric Mayhem, and yes, it’s still the same high-speed coaster… just with a very different vibe.
Getting on it will take a little planning. Disney is using a virtual queue during the preview window, with three chances each day:
- 7:00 AM – You’ll need a Hollywood Studios park reservation
- 11:00 AM – Any park reservation works, but you must tap into that park first
- 3:00 PM – No park reservation required, just valid admission
One important note here. You don’t have to be inside a park to grab a virtual queue spot, but you can only join once per day. And like we’ve seen before, getting a boarding group doesn’t guarantee you’ll ride.
The virtual queue is just for previews. Disney says it won’t be in place once the ride officially opens on May 26.
There’s also a nice little perk. If you ride during previews, your on-ride PhotoPass image will be free to download. No extra steps, just make sure your account is linked.
Now over at EPCOT, things are much simpler.

Soarin’ Across America returns May 26 as well, but Passholders can preview it earlier on May 19 and 20. No virtual queue here. Just hop in the standby line during regular park hours. That’s it.
A few basics to keep in mind. You’ll need a valid Annual Pass and admission for the day. Depending on when you go, you may still need a park reservation. Blockout dates apply. And if you’re park hopping, the usual rules are still in play.
So… are you grabbing a preview spot, or waiting to ride with the crowds?
