Superhero recruits have something BIG to look forward to at Disney California Adventure Park. Walt Disney Imagineering shared an exciting construction update on Instagram on Wednesday, revealing visible progress on the long-awaited Avengers Campus expansion at the Disneyland Resort.
In the post, Imagineering confirmed that the canopy connecting two upcoming attractions – Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab – is now being assembled on-site. The large steel structure, which will visually and thematically unite the new additions to the existing campus, marks one of the most significant milestones in the project so far.

While Disney has not yet shared a timeline for the expansion’s completion, the new photos show extensive vertical construction and structural details that signal major momentum behind the scenes. The canopy itself will serve as both a design centerpiece and functional element, shading the area while continuing the sleek, high-tech aesthetic that defines Avengers Campus.
Fans first learned about the Avengers Campus expansion during the 2022 D23 Expo, when Disney revealed concept art for a new multiverse-themed attraction allowing guests to team up with heroes from across time and space. Avengers Infinity Defense is expected to feature an all-new ride system that brings recruits face-to-face with an epic lineup of Marvel characters battling across alternate realities.
Meanwhile, the Stark Flight Lab is expected to serve as a themed companion space, potentially offering interactive elements and storytelling that extend the attraction’s narrative. Together, they represent the next phase in Disney’s ever-growing Marvel presence at the Disneyland Resort.

As construction continues, excitement is building for the chance to see what’s next in the Avengers’ recruitment efforts. For now, the sight of the new canopy rising over Avengers Campus is a heroic sign that progress is well underway.
