Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek Names Josh D’Amaro New Disneyland Resort President

Today, Bob Chapek, the chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, announced that Michael Colglazier would be taking a new position and Josh D'Amaro would become the new president of the Disneyland Resort. Colglazier, who has served as president of Disneyland for the last five years, will become the managing director of Asia Pacific Operation. Colglazier said in a statement, "It has been an incredible privilege to lead Walt Disney's original park for the past five years and to drive his legacy of innovation, quality and storytelling alongside my fellow cast members. Being part of the Disneyland Resort community has been a wonderful source of joy for me and my family." D'Amaro, who will assume the duties as president effect March 5th, most recently served as a senior vice president at Walt Disney World. There he worked on marketing, sales and business development. Prior to that he served as the senior vice president of Resorts and Transportation, overseeing the operation of all of the hotels and transportation systems throughout the resort. He has also served as vice president at Animal Kingdom and worked with Adventures by Disney, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Disney's Consumer Products Division. D'Amaro said, "I am incredibly excited to be returning to the place where I began my Disney career nearly 20 years ago." According to Chapek, "Michael and Josh bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new roles and share a passion for delivering extraordinary experiences for our guests.
