If you (and your sweet tooth) are heading to Disney Springs in the near future, there’s a new dessert stop to add to your to-do list. Carlo’s Bake Shop, featured on TLC’s Cake Boss, now has a presence on Walt Disney World property.
Carlo’s Bake Shop treats can now be found at the ever-popular Earl of Sandwich in Disney Springs’ Marketplace. Earl of Sandwich’s in-house dessert game was already strong; the introduction of Carlo’s might just make it even stronger.
A case of Carlo’s Bake Shop treats can be found on the main counter just before you reach the cashier. At this time, the Carlo’s treats available for purchase include large slices of cake, all $10.95 each. The choices include a Chocolate Fudge Cake Slice, a Rainbow Cake Slice, and a Red Velvet Cake Slice. Carlo’s Black and White cookie is also available for $3.95.
While I was at Earl of Sandwich, I tried the Black and White cookie, and I wondered how it would compare with the Black and White cookie that was available at L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen during the Epcot Festival of the Holidays.
As you would expect with a Black and White cookie, the cookie itself had a cake-like consistency. Carlo’s version of the cookie was thicker, lighter and somewhat softer than what I found at L’Chaim in December. The Black and White cookie from L’Chaim had a citrus flavor to it; Carlo’s version did not. The cake portion of both cookies was not sweet, as the icing more than provides enough sweetness (and then some) for the treat. The chocolate and vanilla icing on the Carlo’s Bake Shop cookie was thick, rich, and incredibly good.
At $3.95, the cookie proved to be a good dessert option that could be shared and savored during a stroll around Disney Springs. If you’d like to see more Carlo’s Bake Shop treat options, and you’ll be at Florida Mall while at Walt Disney World, Carlo’s Bake Shop has a standalone location near the food court.
