During Destination D23 in 2023, Disney announced Country Bear Jamboree would be closing in 2024 to introduce a new reimagined show with the famous bears. 2023 came to a close without any new information on the show update, but now we have an answer. Country Bear Jamboree’s last day of shows will be January 26, 2024. The show will be dark beginning January 27 until it reopens later this summer.
The show has been a staple of Magic Kingdom for years but has lost relevance for many guests. Disney decided to update the show rather than remove it completely. Gone are the days of “All The Guys That Turn Me On Turn Me Down” and other classic country hits. Disney will replace the original soundtrack with new, reinterpreted Disney tunes in different country music genres – like bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, rockabilly, and other styles.

The new show will pay homage to Nashville Opry-style shows. The reimagined Country Bear Musical Jamboree show will contain easter eggs from beginning to end including a familiar tune fans may remember.
It is sad to lose this version of Country Bear Jamboree, but keeping the bears is most important for fans of the show. The show is a compacted version of what it originally was and special variations of the show haven’t been shown for years. We’ll be sure to update you when Country Bear Jamboree reopens as Country Bear Musical Jamboree this summer!
