According to the Orange County Register, the Disneyland Resort has brought in a limited number of construction crews to perform work related to the Avengers Campus and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway projects.
Disney Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy shared during this week’s earnings report that Disney has paused most construction projects. Cast Members, Imagineers, and contractors, however, will work to protect the Avengers Campus project from weather and receive steel deliveries for Runaway Railway.
Avengers Campus, the new land at Disney California Adventure, had been scheduled for a July 18th opening, however, with construction stalled and the parks closed, that date is unlikely.
Some had thought that Runaway Railway attraction, which is scheduled for a 2022 open at Disneyland Park, might be cancelled due to budget cuts following the COVID-19 pandemic, but the steel delivery could be a sign that the project will proceed.
No work is currently being done on the in-progress Haunted Mansion, Snow White’s Scary Adventures, and King Arthur Carrousel refurbishments.
