After everyone was accounted for, the original Descendants brought in 10.5 million viewers; the sequel managed to match that, and then some. Premiering across a total of six channels, Descendants 2 averaged 13 million viewers.
The film was broadcast on six channels: Disney Channel, Disney XD, ABC, Freeform, Lifetime, and Lifetime Movies. The largest audience was on Disney Channel, with a total of 5.3 million viewers. It debuted on ABC to 1.7 million, with an after-premiere special that pulled in 1.1 million.
The original Descendants debuted to 6.6 million, but when live plus-3 viewing was figured in, it brought the total to 10.5 million.
The sequel did very well with Disney Channel’s younger viewers: 2.2 million from ages 2 – 11, 1.8 million from ages 6 – 11, 1.9 million for ages 9 – 14.
