
UPDATE: Here’s more of the merchandise coming for Lunar New Year:
The Lunar New Year celebration starts soon at Disney California Adventure and we have a few more details of the what’s on tap for the Year of the Mouse, including many returning favorites. As always, look for unique food items, traditional entertainment, fun character opportunities, and themed merchandise.
For the Year of the Mouse, Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession will, of course, feature Mickey and Minnie in new celebration attire, along with Goofy the god of Good Fortune, and Chip ‘n Dale in their red vests, plus dancers, martial arts performers, and drummers.
In addition, look for performances by authentic Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese dancers and musicians at the Paradise Gardens bandstand and throughout Paradise Gardens Park.
At night, the waters of Paradise Bay come alive once again with the return of Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration before World of Color.
In Paradise Gardens, guests will be able to meet Mickey and Minnie in their new attire, plus Mulan, Pluto, and the Three Little Pigs.
The Lucky Wishing Wall returns, along with free crafts, Chinese calligraphy, and local artisans.
The four Lunar New Year marketplaces are back with a variety of Asian-inspired food and beverages. The Longevity Noodle Co., Lucky 8 Lantern, Prosperity Bao & Buns, and Red Dragon Spice Traders will serve up returning favorites, plus new items like Smoked Beef Bulgogi Short Rig and Peach Sojito.
As always, Paradise Garden Grill will transition to a Lunar New Year menu and there will be special items at the Lucky Fortune Cookery.
Finally, look for Lunar New Year inspired merchandise including a new spirit jersey, Chip ‘n Dale bobble-heads, Minnie Mouse ear headbands, and the traditional red envelope set.
Lunar New Year at California Adventure begins January 17th and continues through February 9th.
