The characters from Disney’s animated film Tangled will be coming to the small screen in 2017. A new animated Disney Channel show will take place after the storyline of the film and be focused around Rapunzel getting to know her parents and the life that she had been missing while living in the tower. In addition to Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, Pascal, Maximus and the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs will return. A new character, Cassandra, will be introduced as Rapunzel’s handmaiden and friend.
The story is described as:
“Her irrepressible spirit and natural curiosity about the world drives her to the realization that there is so much more she needs to learn before she can truly accept her royal destiny. She boldly puts her crown and impending marriage on hold to seek out epic adventures, much to the dismay of the King who, after missing out on Rapunzel’s youth, must accept that his daughter is now an independent young woman.”
Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will be back to voice their roles as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater will write the music and Chris Sonnenburg (Enchanted) and Shane Prigmore (The Lego Movie) will co-produce.
