Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World cancelled

Earlier this week, we reported that the Disney Channel show, Girl Meets World, was rumored to be scheduled for cancellation after the current third season. At the time, nothing was official and the show’s writers tweeted that they had not been informed of cancellation.

The writers have now confirmed that they just received word that the show has been officially cancelled. They tweeted:

It is with incredible pride in our work and complete sadness that things end, that I report to this wonderful audience that our show is over. I just officially got the call, and would like to thank this audience for its incredible love and loyalty. Please watch our January episodes. We leave you with three incredible souvenirs of a show we couldn’t be more proud of. As I look back I can tell you with absolute certainty – we gave you our best.”

The final three episodes will air January 6, 13, and 20.

Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
