In July of this year, Disney launched a global campaign in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, backed by a $1 million donation from The Walt Disney Company. The initiative is called Disney Create 100, with a series of world-renowned creative visionaries who have been invited to make unique contributions “inspired by their personal connection to Disney’s stories and characters.” The extraordinary works of art across a multitude of industries, such as fashion, music, art, and more, are set to be auctioned off to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Among the famous names involved in the project include “global icon Beyoncé, famed French fashion designer Christian Louboutin, Italian Global Creative Director for Swarovski Giovanna Engelbert, Chinese virtuoso pianist Lang Lang, American fashion pioneer Tommy Hilfiger, and Brazilian artist Vik Muniz.” Disney says the collection also features global partners such as Adidas, Pandora, and Coach, who will also be contributing one-of-a-kind pieces to the range. There are so many incredible items on the list, and I can’t wait to see them be auctioned. As much as I would like to, I’m unlikely to be able to bid on any of these extravagant items, though I love the idea of creativity and art from all over the world, bringing so much awareness to the wonderful cause.
