Disney Executive Chairman Bob Iger Named to California Economic Task Force

Bob Iger, Executive Chairman for The Walt Disney Company, has been named by California Governor Gavin Newsom to an 80-person task force that is being charged with developing economic strategies to aid in the recovery caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Iger is joined on the panel by several other well known executives, including Apple CEO Tim Cook and former presidential candidate Tom Steyer, who will co-chair the committee.

During the announcement, Iger said that getting Cast Members back to work and offering positive experiences to guests were the priorities for Disney. Iger added:

“…we also know that we need to be really smart in how we re-open our business, so that everyone can feel safe–both our employees and our customers. In order to achieve this balance, we think a collection of protective measures are likely necessary. We stand ready to implement them when available, and to do everything we can at The Walt Disney Company to restart our business under safe and reliable conditions.”
