One of the three judges for this year’s Rose Parade is Brad Kaye, the principal art director for Disney Parks Live Entertainment.
The Tournament of Roses’ 129th Rose Parade will take place New Year’s Day in Pasadena, California.
Kaye joined Disney Parks Live Entertainment in 1998 and has worked on parades and spectaculars at the Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney Sea, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland. Kaye also worked on the Aladdin and Tangled shows aboard Disney Cruise Line.
As one of the designers for the Disneyland Resorts floats for the Rose Parade in 2006 and 2013, Kaye feels he “really got an understanding of the craftsmanship that the amazing teams of volunteers and scene shops do to pull it all together.”
Kaye adds, “Now as a judge, it will be very exciting to see them all up close in the final days of assembly and really be able to applaud all the teams’ efforts.”
The theme for the 2018 parade is “Making a Difference” and this year’s Grand Marshal is actor Gary Sinise. The parade begins at 8am on Monday, January 1st.
