Disney Removes Transgender Storyline from Pixar’s ‘Win or Lose’ Series

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pixar’s upcoming animated series Win or Lose will no longer feature a transgender storyline in a later episode.

Win or Lose reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of eight different characters in the week leading up to the big game—the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, and even a lovesick umpire with incredibly funny, very emotional and uniquely animated perspectives. Featuring the voice of Will Forte as the coach, Win or Lose is directed, written and executive-produced by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, and produced by David Lally.

A Disney spokesperson confirmed the removal of the story arc and shared the following statement with The Hollywood Reporter:

When it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline.

While the affected character will remain part of the show, the report states that a few lines of dialogue referencing gender identity are being removed from the script.

THR says that Disney declined to comment on any further details.

The brand-new original series Win or Lose debuts on Disney+ on February 19, 2025.
